💬 Public Rhetoric

Housing Density

"When running for mayor of #Mississauga, I made you all a promise. No matter the outcome, I will fight for you to build a better future. I reaffirm the commitment to Keeping your taxes down Building more homes Making transit better Stay Involved http:// alvintedjo.ca"

Social Affordable Housing

"I did want to touch on that relationship because. There are a number of challenges that. Publicly funded institutions in Ontario have to deal with, based on their relationship with the province, the funding formula all the models in terms of international students. And program approvals. All of that leads to pressures on postsecondary institutions in the province. That ebb and flow based on policy making at the provincial level. I wanted to ask you. Basically. Ways that we can work together. And some of the challenges that you faced recently as an institution in terms of how the city can then support it. I want to focus more on. Student housing, that type of relationship. And where we can potentially work together."

Social Welfare And Employment

"My approach is that we should try everything that could work. If this is one of those approaches, have to support it. And we did support it here as a council based on evidence and data, based on professional advice, based on experts that none of which I am. But when we hear from experts on this matter, we best believe it. If. It is about. Involuntary horn reduction, those kind of services as well. If they work, implement them. The more tools we can have. To target this. As an issue and then find solutions. I think it's better."

Social Affordable Housing

"I appreciate all the time and effort. That deputies have made coming today to speak about this issue. We had unanimous Councillor support a few weeks ago when we were discussing this. On the Indwell project in Clarkson. And so I think we indicated then that we were going to try to take something back. To address this issue moving forward, so. We wouldn't have to deal with them on one offs as they come up. So appreciated, Councillor. Support for that. Really just trying to clean up a few issues that we have. I know through talking to staff. The chief planner and the city solicitor that a few of these items are already being dealt with. Through the Planning act in terms of DC's parkland charges, but I think the report that we're asking for here is. To find any other barriers. Financial, including the pill. That we could get a recommendation on in terms of how to remove or eliminate those barriers. So that we don't face these issues again."

Police

"Congratulations To Peele Regional Police for opening groundbreaking their new facility. Up in Brampton and looking forward to the next one being. Broken ground in Mississauga for our third division."
